What is a Bookland Barcode?

A Bookland Barcode is created using a unique prefix allocated for book publishers worldwide. By combining the 978 or 979 prefix with a 9-digit ISBN and a modulo 11 checksum, publishers create a globally recognized identifier.

Key Components:

  • UCC/EAN: The 3-digit prefix (978/979) specifically for books.
  • ISBN: The 9-digit unique catalog number for book identification.
  • Checksum: A modulo 11 digit appended at the rear end for data integrity.
