Card Verification Codes
The code on Visa (known as the CVV2), MasterCard (known as the CVC2), and Discover (known as the CID) is a three-digit number that appears AFTER the account number on the back of the card in the signature field.
On American Express cards, the code (known as the CID) is a four-digit number on the front of the card printed above the account number.
